Good morning, KC Tar Heels. I hope you’ve all enjoyed this lovely weather (sigh). It has not been the best stretch for our Tar Heels, but hopefully Saturday’s win over Pitt got them out of their funk. I realize that if the ACC is the food chain, then Pitt is the plankton, but when you’re hungry for wins, you’ve got to eat something.
On Thursday, a bigger fish comes to Chapel Hill—that school we like to call the University of New Jersey at Durham, a.k.a Duke, a.k.a [censored]. It won’t be easy to beat those guys, but if B.C. can do it, and if freaking Saint John’s can do it, then we can do it, too.
I am confident, based on my prior e-mails, that we will have sufficient people to do a watch party. In fact, I expect a pretty good group, so please RSVP by Wednesday night and let me know how many people are in your party if you plan to come. Even if you told me before that you were interested in coming for Duke, please confirm that fact. As usual, we will meet at The Peanut on Santa Fe in downtown Overland Park. I will try to get us a reservation, since we will be coming during the dinner hour (tip-off is at 7 p.m. Central time). There are no game conflicts with local teams, but that tends to be a pretty busy time for them regardless of games.
I may have to be a little late, so I’ll talk to a couple of you individually about saving me a spot, but I’ll still make the arrangements. Have a happy Tuesday, and go Tar Heels!
